A discussion concerning local challenges and growth opportunities
On Thursday evening, November 18, 2021, Tom Barkin, who serves as the President and CEO of the Federal Reserve Bank of Richmond joined community leaders for a discussion regarding challenges and opportunities, both locally and nationally regarding economic growth. The Boone Area Chamber of Commerce’s Community Foundation Dinner allowed for an opportunity to discuss high and low-level concerns around the area of economics. While housing and labor continue to be areas of concern, the local area is continuing to gain momentum and recover from impacts from the global pandemic.
“Not only was it a privilege to meet Mr. Barkin, it was amazing to see that he has ayearning to visit communities, learn about what makes them tick, to see and visit their respective industries, employers and leaders to gain insight so that changes can be made at a more regional and national level.”
